You are cordially invited to join the first Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Environmental Management Association of Hong Kong (EMAHK) which will be held
on 20 November, 2010 (6-7 pm)
at Room P3-05 of the Graduate House, The University of Hong Kong (HKU Main Campus)
Before the AGM, there will be “A Public Consultation Forum on Hong Kong’s Climate Change Strategy and Action Agenda” which is jointly organised by EMAHK and HKU at the same venue between 4 and 6 pm; all members are welcome to participate in this forum.
The vision of EMAHK is to “establish the Association as a leading and recognised contributor to environmental management and sustainable development discourse, as well as to the advancement of environmental management as a professional field.”
We are honoured to have Professor Peter Hills and Dr. Kenneth Leung to be the founding advisors of EMAHK. They are the professionals in the field and going to provide valuable advice for us to achieve the vision of EMAHK.
Professor Peter Hills is currently the Director of the Kadoorie Institute of HKU. He is an expert in sustainability studies, ecological modernization, and environmental policy studies. He is also the founding Programme Coordinator of MSc in Environmental Management (ENVM) of HKU when the programme started in 1989.
Dr. Kenneth Leung is the current Programme Coordinator of the ENVM Programme. Dr. Leung is an associate professor at the School of Biological Sciences, HKU specialised in the fields related to water quality management, aquatic toxicology and ecological risk assessment.
We are going to elect the first committee members of EMAHK during the AGM. You are invited to nominate yourself or other potential members with self consent to serve as a committee member. The positions of the EMAHK Committee include Chairman, Vice-chairmen, Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relation, Publication, Training, Policy Research, Training, Liaison and Membership.
