Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong SoHo is the flagship of Green Building with a number of innovative ideas on Energy Optimization Solutions (EOS) and sustainable practices. This hotel project obtained Platinum rating, the highest level available, under the BEAM Plus assessment. The building utilizes a Green design and focuses on sustainability, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere optimization, material and resources consideration, indoor environmental quality performance and control, and design innovation. When projected and compared to the hotels of the same scale, the overall energy savings and reduction of CO2 emission of the hotel is about 60% and 70% respectively.
 
The speakers will share their experiences on the green and innovative ideas adopted in this project, such as the Energy Optimization Solution to HVAC System, adoption of intelligent permanent magnet motor fan coil unit, chilled headboard, 18m vertical exterior green wall, green rooftop, rain water recycling system, intelligent room roller blind control of reducing solar heat gain, pattern recognition energy saving solution in common area, etc.   It is then followed by a tour of various areas of the hotel, including the guestrooms, equipment rooms, the podium and the roof.
