EMAHK has passed its 10th Anniversary quietly over the unprecedented pandemic situation that is affecting everyone across the Globe.  The Association has not been affected much though we have reduced our technical visits and changed some of our activities using technologies to cope.  We continue to grow our membership now exceeding 100 members strong.  We obtained Inland Revenue Department approval for tax exemption status under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap. 112) as a registered charitable organization – The Environmental Management Association of Hong Kong Limited.   I am delighted to achieve this milestone during my tenure with credits to the hard works by the Executive Committee Members.  This has taken quite a lot of our efforts over the past 3 years and we should utilize our unique position to raise funding to advance education in environmental protection for the benefit of the Hong Kong community.  We also pioneered a number of training courses to help candidates to prepare for their HKIQEP examination and we are expecting to do more as the demand is on the rise.  We will continue our collaborations with other professional institutions to advance environmental protection and to align our future generation to realize Government’s plan for net-zero emissions by 2050.

I would continue our membership drive and to broaden our activities to accommodate our members’ need in the coming year.  I look forward to hearing your views and suggestions to plan for the upcoming events.
