Chinachem Group Sustainability Conference 2022

 

Organised by the Chinachem Group and co-organised by the Hong Kong Green Building Council (HKGBC), the third edition of Chinachem Group Sustainability Conference 2022 will be held on 24 October 2022 (Monday) at the Nina Hotel Tsuen Wan West, Hong Kong in both physical and online format. The theme of this year’s Conference is “Creating Social Impact on the Zero Carbon Journey in Hong Kong”.
At the Conference, renowned overseas and local speakers will share on a broad range of inspiring topics and deliver case studies regarding the technical aspects of green buildings, green finance, and offer novel perspectives on how green buildings can intertwine with culture and conservation.

Technical Visit to EPD O.Park 1

 

O · PARK1, the first organic resources recovery centre, located at Siu Ho Wan of North Lantau adopts anaerobic digestion technology to convert food waste into biogas (a source of renewable energy similar to natural gas) for electricity generation whilst the residues from the process can be produced as compost for landscaping and agriculture use.
Through the visitor centre, the Environmental Protection Department introduces the Government’s strategies on food waste management, promotes a food wise and waste less culture as well as encourages households and the commercial and industrial sectors to reduce food waste at source.

6:30 PM – Part I: Talk by Mr. Patrick Lau: Northern Metropolis – “Bold New World”.

Announced in the 2021 Chief Executive Policy Address, the Northern Metropolis represents a bold plan to rationalise and maximise the potential of existing land resources to achieve a number of pressing objectives – meeting housing demand, nature conservation, economic development, employment and integration into the GBA. The “why”, “what” and “where” of this mega-initiative seem obvious enough, but what about the devil in the details such as “when”? This talk will pick up where the plan has left off to examine the challenges of realising the “Bold New World”.

After the AGM – Part III: Networking Dinner

It has been too long since our last face-to-face event. EMAHK Ltd is taking this opportunity to invite our members to a dinner at a nearby restaurant to network and reacquaint with each other. To confirm your committed attendance and avoid food wastage, we require a payment of $50 to secure the seat for the dinner. Any friend of a member may join the dinner at the full price of $300.

 

PREREGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR THIS EVENT.
NO WALK-INS ARE PERMITTED!

Due to social distancing restrictions at the meeting venue, the number of participants for the talk and AGM is limited to 38. There is no limit on the number of participants for the dinner.
